Trail Rides
Depending on group size, two or more trail guides accompany the group for a trail ride through the trails and beaches of Jamaica Bay, part of Gateway National Recreation Area and Park. Jamaica Bay Riding Academy is an authorized concessioner of the National Park Service, Dept. of the Interior. The ride takes a leisurely stroll through the wooded areas of the preserve before hitting the beachfront. Rider's can then ride down the beach for about a mile before returning to the trails. Trail Rides go out all year long, regardless of the season. For specific times, click here. Each season of trail riding has its own charm on the beachfront and trails. Appointments are not necessary.
Private Trail Rides
Private Trail Rides are designed to cater to people who would like more personal attention or advanced riding. Private trail rides are ideal for families with young children (ages five and up) not yet experienced enough to go on a regular trail ride. They are also perfect for for groups who would like to enjoy a ride alone. Available by appointment only. Please contact our office to make an appointment.
Pony Rides
Pony rides are available for children under the age of 8. Parents walk the pony, along with their child, throughout our scenic trails. Pony rides are great for children not yet old enough to go on trail rides. No appointment is necessary.
